Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

Mcrc has been granted exemption from income taxes by the internal revenue service under the provisions of section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and is not considered a private foundation. The organization assesses uncertain tax positions on an annual basis. This assessment includes the assessment of private benefits to related parties and disqualified persons. Management believes that no excess private benefit has been conveyed through december 31, 2024. This determination has been made through an assessment of estimated revenue streams in relation to below market loans, including developer fees, support service fees, and initially projected principal and interest payment streams. There has not been any interest or penalties recognized either in the statement of activities and change in net assets or statement of financial position related to uncertain tax positions. In addition, the organization did not have any uncertain tax positions at december 31, 2024. The organization is no longer subject to federal or state income tax examinations by tax authorities before 2021.

IN 2024, WE WELCOMED 832 NEW CLIENTS, OFFERING PERSONALIZED CASE MANAGEMENT TO HELP INDIVIDUALS NAVIGATE THEIR UNIQUE CHALLENGES AND CONNECT WITH ESSENTIAL RESOURCES.WE SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS BY PROVIDING HYGIENE KITS, MAIL SERVICES TO ENSURE THEY HAVE A SECURE MAILING ADDRESS, AND VERIFICATION LETTERS TO HELP THEM ACCESS HOUSING AND OTHER CRITICAL PROGRAMS. THESE SERVICES ARE A LIFELINE FOR FAMILIES NAVIGATING DIFFICULT TIMES, HELPING THEM REMAIN HOUSED AND MEET THEIR BASIC NEEDS.OUR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM CONTINUES TO SERVE AS A STEPPING STONE FOR FAMILIES WORKING TOWARD LONG-TERM STABILITY. IN BOTH 2023 AND 2024, WE SUPPORTED 4 FAMILIES ACROSS 3 DUPLEXES (6 UNITS), OFFERING SAFE AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING WHILE THEY WORK TOWARD FINANCIAL INDEPENDENCE.IN TOTAL, MCRC INVESTED OVER $150,000 IN DIRECT COMMUNITY SUPPORT THIS PAST YEAR, ENSURING THAT FAMILIES IN CRISIS RECEIVE THE CRITICAL ASSISTANCE THEY NEED TO REGAIN STABILITY AND REBUILD THEIR FUTURES. THROUGH THESE OUTREACH PROGRAMS, WE REMAIN COMMITTED TO EMPOWERING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES, PROVIDING THE RESOURCES AND SUPPORT NECESSARY TO CREATE LASTING CHANGE.FOOD PROGRAMSMCRC'S FOOD PROGRAMS WORK TO COMBAT FOOD INSECURITY AND PROVIDE NOURISHMENT TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS IN NEED. IN 2024, WE SERVED 247 NEW CLIENTS THROUGH A VARIETY OF INITIATIVES, INCLUDING TWO COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRIES, GRAB-N-GO FOOD BAGS FOR INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS, AND LARGE-SCALE FOOD DISTRIBUTIONS DURING KEY EVENTS LIKE THANKSGIVING, THE CHRISTMAS FAMILY SPECTACULAR, AND THE I AM LOVED HOMELESS EVENT. ADDITIONALLY, HEALTHY COOKING CLASSES EMPOWER FAMILIES TO MAKE NUTRITIOUS CHOICES WITH THE RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO THEM.
