A new program service in 2021 was the "enhancing local farmer networks in kansas to aid nutrient reduction to the gulf of mexico", (farmer to farmer network). The program uses farmer coaches to work with other farms to adopt soil health practices like no tillage and cover crops. The nine coaches worked with five other farmers to assist with adoption of soil health practices. The benefits of nutrient and sediment reduction from agriculture land that would otherwise reach the kansas, missouri, and mississippi rivers and the gulf of mexico.

A TOTAL OF $96,060 WAS PROVIDED TO 41 LANDOWNERS TO INSTALL CONSERVATION PRACTICES TO REDUCE POLLUTANTS FROM REACHING THE RESERVOIRS, THE KANSAS RIVER, THE MISSOURI RIVER AND THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. THE FARMER TO FARMER NETWORK WAS A PROGRAM THAT USES FARMER COACHES TO WORK WITH OTHER FARMERS TO ADOPT SOIL HEALTH PRACTICES LIKE NO-TILLAGE AND COVER CROPS. THERE ARE NINE COACHES EACH WORKING WITH FIVE FARMS TO IMPLEMENT THESE SOIL HEALTH PRACTICES. THE BENEFITS ARE NUTRIENT AND SEDIMENT REDUCTION FROM AGRICULTURAL LAND THAT WOULD REACH THE KANSAS, MISSOURI, AND MISSISSIPPI RIVERS.
