“The susan b. Allen memorial hospital foundation is dedicated to helping the hospital fulfill its mission of providing compassionate, professional healthcare to the communities we serve. Acting as the fundraising arm of susan b. Allen memorial hospital (sbamh), the foundation accepts charitable gifts to be used for maintaining and improving the programs and services at the hospital that will have a positive impact on the health of our communities. The foundation has provided support by: funds - cancer center assistance programs - 20 gas cards given - matt cross fund: 248 meals were given to cancer center patients in treatment totaling $1,736, and $3,095 was utilized to supply snacks for cancer center patients. - breast cancer awareness month - october - giveaways - el dorado working on wellness program - mary k. Connell fund: - 99 total kids participated in the ride & walking to school program in the spring and fall. The program is five days of riding or walking, or a total of 740 walking/riding days. - 120 total kids participated in the 5th grade wellness program 2 times a year. Students are given water bottles, and wellness education/tracking booklets were provided. For each of these schools we do a six week program with presentations about nutrition, portion size, daily movement, and stress reduction. We ask the students to keep track of their movement and food intake by type. The y puts on two classes of yoga, zumba, or dance, which are types of exercise the students would not ordinarily see in pe class. Sba does two classes on balance, stretching, screen time, how to wear your backpack, and rehab. We do these programs over the course of a school year. Some were done in spring of 2024 and some in fall of 2024. After the six week session we have a trip to the y for teachers and students where we rotate through games and activities with a lunch of "walking tacos." prescription assistance program - 10 total patients received prescription assistance - 20 total prescriptions diagnostic imaging - breast cancer awareness month - mammograms - giveaways obstetrics - 30 moms/partners utilized our childbirth education classes. Med/surg - $229,575 was spent on the nursing call system. Diagnostic imaging - $136,378 was spent on ultrasound equipment. Cancer center - $7,437 was spent on fire doors. Ob -$5,830 was spent on room blinds. Employees relations - flu vaccinations for 231 staff/volunteers, totaling $7552 - 30 employee appreciation projects - national healthcare hospital week, totaling $3,844 - continued development of education for sba staff - gift cards for staff, totaling $6,000 - 19 community and internal support of programs and events auxiliary - employee giving campaign community - established women's health program with soroptomist - in conjunction with the sba auxiliary - butler community college auction - trick or treat down main street on 10/31/2024 - christmas parade - sunset soiree - gala 14 - ymca auction - rise (homeless initiative auction)”
