SINCE OPENING ITS DOORS IN 1967, VHA HAS TOUCHED THE LIVES OF MORE THAN 301,000 INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILY MEMBERS.SERVICES VHA PROVIDES INCLUDES MEDICALLY MONITORED DETOXIFICATION, RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT, PARTIAL (DAY) TREATMENT, INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT, RELAPSE PREVENTION AND CONTINUING CARE. VIRTUALLY ALL FAMILY MEMBERS AND SIGNIFICANT OTHERS ARE AFFECTED BY LIVING WITH SOMEONE WHO ABUSES ALCOHOL OR OTHER DRUGS. WE BELIEVE FAMILY THERAPY IS AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF TREATMENT FOR ALL PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM THE DISEASE. THIS YEAR, VALLEY HOPE PROVIDED 10,050 TREATMENT DAYS FOR SIGNIFICANT OTHERS.WE BELIEVE CONTINUING CARE (CC) IS ALSO AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE RECOVERY PROCESS. WE OFFER SIX AND TWELVE MONTH CONTINUING CARE PACKAGES AT REDUCED PRICES TO ENCOURAGE PARTICIPATION IN CC. THIS YEAR WE PROVIDED 42,466 CONTINUING CARE VISITS.VHA ALSO SUPPORTS PUBLIC EDUCATION ON THE DISEASE OF CHEMICAL DEPENDENCY.
