IRS990/Desc0Collective Impact: After over a year of planning and preparation we launched a climate focused collective impact initiative for the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes Region in February 2021. Collective impact is a framework for structuring large-scale, cross-sector collaboration to address complex problems that no one organization or sector can adequately addresses on its own. The Accelerator serves as the "backbone organization for this initiative, and is therefore responsible for facilitating and coordinating the collaborative work. The initiative's steering committee is currently working on developing a climate action strategy for the region, with technical support from the Stockholm Environment institute.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy2Grp/Desc0Color Your County Green: The Accelerator is mobilizing climate action across the nine-county region through our Color Your County Green (CYCG) initiative. CYCG aims to connect concerned individuals, by municipality or neighborhood, to form a network of climate-focused citizen action teams that identify and advocate for locally-relevant, high-impact climate solutions. CYCG teams are leading their communities' transition to clean energy, with support from the Accelerator, and with an emphasis on environmental justice and equitable climate solutions.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0HeatSmart Monroe: is a limited-time, NYSERDA funded community education campaign, intended to jumpstart the rate of homeowners adoption of both building envelope and heat pump technologies. By offering a simple process with vetted installation partners, the program makes home energy efficiency more easily accessible for both residential and commercial customers. This program is a continuation of the Sustainable Home Rochester Campaign, which was administered by the City of Rochester, with our organization as a subcontractor. This program is funded by a three year grant from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority. For the Fiscal year ending June 30, 2021, $49,000 was received from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.

IRS990ScheduleI/RecipientTable/PurposeOfGrantTxt1Train 10 Rochester city youth of color, ages 16-20, to become hike leaders. They will lead hikes (with certified adult hike leaders supervising) for children ages 10-15; teach their younger counterparts the value of our natural resources, and create a sustainable long-term lifecycle of learning, stewardship, and accountability for the environment.
IRS990ScheduleI/RecipientTable/PurposeOfGrantTxt2With support from Climate of Change, the Rochester Museum & Science Center will host Climate Action Days. This unique, two-day event for middle school students from underserved communities in both the City of Rochester and rural areas will inspire and empower participants through engagement with diverse local climate scientists, experts, and environmental justice activists as they progress through a series of stations featuring the museum's interactive climate related exhibits and green infrastructure.
