Its mission is to provide original materials to interested individuals and organizations with a greater degree of access and flexibility than is typically provided by traditional museums, libraries and archives. Most established museums, libraries and archives maintain strict controls over the accessibility, lending and duplication of their materials, putting valuable educational resources out-of-reach for many schools, public institutions and interested individuals.
