“Classes of members are: country members, who shall be the national associations of optometrists of each region; affiliate members are academic institutions or other organizations; individual members are optometrists, vision science researchers and educators and others deemed approrpirate; and corporate members shall be corporations and agencies that provide goods and/or services related to eye health and vision care.”

“Country members are voting members at assemblies. The country members representing a country shall appoint a delegation to the assembly of up to three individuals (delegates), collectively known as the national delegation. Each national delegation will be eligible for one vote at the assembly. Affiliate, individual, and corporate members are non-voting members.”

The general assembly has the authority to amend the constitution and by-laws, adoption of the financial reports, elections, redress of the board off directors and executive committee decisions, country member's motions, and dissolution of the association.”

“The conflict of interest declaration must be completed at the beginning of each term and updated as a need arises during the term. As well, at each wco-sanction meeting, a conflict of interest agenda item at said meeting will afford every person attending to declare whether they have a conflict of interest.”

Published survey of members regarding the variations of practice, regulation, and human resources between countries. Continued educational initiatives to create awareness around myopia, dry eye disease, and presbyopia care.”
