“In 2024, humans for education's largest initiative was the women-owned business program, through which 53 women received training for 6 months in skills like sewing and cooking, empowering them to launch or expand their small businesses. Our data shows that each participant impacted an average of 11 others, directly benefiting 636 people and creating a ripple effect. Additionally, our scholarship program remained active, providing vital educational opportunities to 86 children across three schools in the maasai mara region. These schools continue to implement the wash and feeding programs to reduce waterborne illnesses, improve overall health, and ensure consistent school attendance, helping children focus on their education without health-related barriers. Through our small entrepreneurs program, we received 86 applications, selected 7 finalists, and distributed a total of 6,000 in investment capital. The loans provided ranged between kes 150,000 and kes 1,150,000 (approx. 1,000-7,500), depending on the size and stage of the business. Our dental program, in partnership with the lions clinic, offered another successful year of comprehensive dental care, addressing critical health needs and continuing as the only clinic of its kind in the region, making essential healthcare accessible for families in extreme poverty.”
