Gifts rwanda's mission is to follow the lead of the locals in rugarika, rwanda, responding only when invited, to help make real, sustainable change in the village and encourage and support abundant, joyful filled lives. We do this through creating jobs, housing, schooling, food, and much more. This produces work and economic growth, made possible through the generous donations of our constituents. We are on a mission to encourage generous giving to promote scalable development. Gifts rwanda is unique because we were invited by those we wish to serve, and the work is done by the locals - creating jobs and economic growth. The village we serve is filled with some of the most inspiring people youd ever want to meet. Their stories of perseverance, faith, and forgiveness are examples for us all. Gifts rwanda is run by a team in both rwanda and the united states.

“Built our team: hired the gifts rwanda board and support staff in rwanda to strengthen our efforts on the ground. Education support: enabled 124 students (44 in primary, 77 in secondary, and 4 in university) to attend school with full tuition, food, uniforms, and suppliesup from 112 children supported in 2023. Essential food assistance: provided 5 families (27 people in total) with staple foods like rice, beans, maize flour, cooking oil, and soap for an entire year. These are families in dire need, including those affected by cancer, hiv/aids, elderly, and orphaned children. This continues from 2023 when we supported 5 families. Community gardens and livestock: contributed 3,748 towards domestic animals and vegetable gardens at our new community center, encouraging community collaboration and self-sufficiency. In 2023, we allocated 7,980 directly to families, and this initiative is steadily becoming self- sustaining. Health insurance: ensured that 1,237 people received health insurance for a year, matching last years reach. Sewing group building: completed construction of the new sewing group building for moms and installed electricity for two sewing machines. Infrastructure additions: installed a large water tank and a bathroom on the multipurpose activity center grounds to meet essential needs. Empowerment hub: began construction of a building with an office where women can gather for crucial discussions on money management, conflict resolution, support groups, soap-making, and puberty/menstruation education. Equipping our team: added office furniture, including cabinets, chairs, and a table, for the new gifts rwanda board. Womens marketplace: started building a shop where women will sell handmade products like clothing, beaded bags, soaps, eggs, and vegetablesempowering them with sustainable income.”

EDUCATION SUPPORT: ENABLED 124 STUDENTS (44 IN PRIMARY, 77 IN SECONDARY, AND 4 IN UNIVERSITY) TO ATTEND SCHOOL WITH FULL TUITION, FOOD, UNIFORMS, AND SUPPLIESUP FROM 112 CHILDREN SUPPORTED IN 2023. ESSENTIAL FOOD ASSISTANCE: PROVIDED 5 FAMILIES (27 PEOPLE IN TOTAL) WITH STAPLE FOODS LIKE RICE, BEANS, MAIZE FLOUR, COOKING OIL, AND SOAP FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR. THESE ARE FAMILIES IN DIRE NEED, INCLUDING THOSE AFFECTED BY CANCER, HIV/AIDS, ELDERLY, AND ORPHANED CHILDREN. THIS CONTINUES FROM 2023 WHEN WE SUPPORTED 5 FAMILIES. COMMUNITY GARDENS AND LIVESTOCK: CONTRIBUTED 3,748 TOWARDS DOMESTIC ANIMALS AND VEGETABLE GARDENS AT OUR NEW COMMUNITY CENTER, ENCOURAGING COMMUNITY COLLABORATION AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY. IN 2023, WE ALLOCATED 7,980 DIRECTLY TO FAMILIES, AND THIS INITIATIVE IS STEADILY BECOMING SELF- SUSTAINING. HEALTH INSURANCE: ENSURED THAT 1,237 PEOPLE RECEIVED HEALTH INSURANCE FOR A YEAR, MATCHING LAST YEARS REACH. SEWING GROUP BUILDING: COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW SEWING GROUP BUILDING FOR MOMS AND INSTALLED ELECTRICITY FOR TWO SEWING MACHINES. INFRASTRUCTURE ADDITIONS: INSTALLED A LARGE WATER TANK AND A BATHROOM ON THE MULTIPURPOSE ACTIVITY CENTER GROUNDS TO MEET ESSENTIAL NEEDS. EMPOWERMENT HUB: BEGAN CONSTRUCTION OF A BUILDING WITH AN OFFICE WHERE WOMEN CAN GATHER FOR CRUCIAL DISCUSSIONS ON MONEY MANAGEMENT, CONFLICT RESOLUTION, SUPPORT GROUPS, SOAP-MAKING, AND PUBERTY/MENSTRUATION EDUCATION. EQUIPPING OUR TEAM: ADDED OFFICE FURNITURE, INCLUDING CABINETS, CHAIRS, AND A TABLE, FOR THE NEW GIFTS RWANDA BOARD. WOMENS MARKETPLACE: STARTED BUILDING A SHOP WHERE WOMEN WILL SELL HANDMADE PRODUCTS LIKE CLOTHING, BEADED BAGS, SOAPS, EGGS, AND VEGETABLESEMPOWERING THEM WITH SUSTAINABLE INCOME. |
