Warriors heart foundation supports the best possible treatment programs to resolve debilitating chemical dependency and post traumatic stress suffered by veterans and first responders. Whf subsidizes coverage by existing entitlements or insurance in order to ensure required care is provided. Our aspiration is that we will continue to expand recipient support to a broader set of care providers as we grow our awareness of the needs of the deserving population.
Supports programs that address the unmet needs of suffering servicemen and women and gives individuals and communities the tools to become self- sufficient.

“Warriors heart foundation's mission is to heal our nations warriors through our private, licensed, and accredited resort-style healing centers. We do this by specializing in substance abuse treatment and co-occurring psychological disorders, with special attention to post-traumatic stress, unresolved grief/loss, and moral injury. Our treatment courses provide the full continuum of care, from detox, inpatient (residential), day treatment, outpatient, sober living, and 1-on-1 counseling.”
“Provide warriors with new tools to be stronger when they go home to build solid relationships and contribute to their communities. And additional continuing care at home if needed. The following is a testimonial from a warriors heart alumni who successfully completed our program: after treatment, chuck (us army special forces) reflected, warriors heart is the place for veterans and first responders dealing with substance abuse to mask post traumatic stress. Nowhere else in the country are you going to find a facility that treats its clients with respect while addressing both the substance abuse and the pts while creating a safe environment where the client can share their darkest secrets with the staff. This safe environment for sharing allows the client to unload their emotional baggage and leave it there at the facility, returning to the real world sober, less burdened with grief.”
“4. Give warriors the option of taking a service dog home with them as an "extra battle buddy." we like to say that our service dogs and our clients "heal" from both ends of the leash. Since april 2016 operation overwatch (a non-profit partner organization responsible for this service) has provided over 60 service dogs to warriors heart clients. Operation overwatch, working in conjunction with warriors heart foundation and other non-profits "scholarship" (provide) large portions of the cost thereby reducing the overall price to the client, 5,000 per dog. 5. Provide educational and community events. Warriors heart and warriors heart foundation have spoken and provided education at various events such as network of independent interventionists, texas association of addiction professionals, vfw's, gold star families meetings, and have had booths at various public events. Most recently, we have forged a partnership with the san antonio zoo promoting awareness to the san antonio military community. 6. Law enforcement and fire department ptsd training. Warriors heart and warriors heart foundation have worked extensively with several law enforcement organizations in texas with regard to education of coping with ptsd, to include the sapd and safd (peer to peer and academy work). We have worked with the sheriff's department in michigan to assist in developing thier peer to peer programs.”

PTSD ALSO HAS A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON LARGE NUMBERS WITHIN THE FIRST RESPONDER COMMUNITY AS WELL. UNFORTUNATELY, INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR THESE WARRIORS IS NOT ALWAYS ADEQUATE FOR MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT. AND, THE OPTION FOR USING PRIVATE PAY IS NOT TYPICALLY A VIABLE COURSE OF ACTION SINCE THE CAREERS THAT THESE WARRIORS HAVE CHOSEN ARE NOT KNOWN FOR GENERATING A LARGE AMOUNT OF INCOME. THIS IS THE MAIN CAUSE THE FUNDING IS USED FOR. WARRIORS HEART TREATMENT FACILITY IS ALSO THE MAIN TREATMENT PROGRAM FUNDED. |

THIS ALLOWS OUR WARRIORS AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE THEY CAN GO OUT AND WORK, VOLUNTEER, INTEGRATE BACK INTO THE COMMUNITY WHILE ALSO HAVE THE SAFETY NET OF A SOBER HOUSING STRUCTURE. FUNDING ASSISTS IN SOME OF THE COSTS OF THEIR HOUSING. |

THIS SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR SHARING ALLOWS THE CLIENT TO UNLOAD THEIR EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE AND LEAVE IT THERE AT THE FACILITY, RETURNING TO THE REAL WORLD SOBER, LESS BURDENED WITH GRIEF. |

| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 1 | PROVIDE WARRIORS WITH NEW TOOLS TO BE STRONGER WHEN THEY GO HOME TO BUILD SOLID RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR COMMUNITIES. THIS SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR SHARING ALLOWS THE CLIENT TO UNLOAD THEIR EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE AND LEAVE IT THERE AT THE FACILITY, RETURNING TO THE REAL WORLD SOBER, LESS BURDENED WITH GRIEF. |
| IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt | 2 | 4. GIVE WARRIORS THE OPTION OF TAKING A SERVICE DOG HOME WITH THEM AS AN "EXTRA BATTLE BUDDY."
