“The bodhi battalion (pronounced bo-dee, meaning "awakening") was established to extend a helping hand to military veterans who struggle to reintegrate into civilian society, live with mental or physical health issues, recover from addictions to substances and/or find safe, consistent housing.”

“In 2025, bodhi battalion achieved significant programmatic and operational growth while expanding our impact on veterans, first responders, and the broader community. - a dedicated indoor training floor - fully installed hvac system for year-round comfort and safety - airline flight-simulation seats donated for realistic practice with public-access travel and air-travel desensitization this facility has become the central hub for our weekly training sessions, behavioral work, community engagement, and participant support. We added four new fully funded program participants, including: - our first first-responder handler team - one veteran-owned service dog team - two additional veteran participants all participants received comprehensive training support through our expanded curriculum. To improve service-dog outcomes and practitioner support, we contracted a professional training and behavior expert to provide: - twice-monthly advanced behavior sessions - ongoing case consultation - integration support for teams with higher behavioral needs - these sessions supplement our weekly individual training, monthly group classes, and continuous skills-development programming. Throughout 2025, we also held several community events that strengthened public awareness, increased engagement, and supported local veterans and first responders. These events provided education on service-dog access, canine behavior, mental health support, and the mission of bohdi battalion. Overall, 2025 was a year of major operational expansion, program refinement, and deeper service to those who have served our communities. We remain committed to advancing our mission through continued excellence in training, evidence-based handler support, and sustainable nonprofit growth.”
