Mission

To implement the community revitalization plans of the dudley street neighborhood initiative, which espouses development without displacement and includes affordable housing, economic development, open space and other amenities of the urban village

Dni 5 continues to engage the community in redevelopment plans for the formerly blighted 14,000 sf parcel of land at dudley street and miller park. This land is now well-maintained and the community is engaged in a process to determine the best use for the site in order to create job and economic opportunities for local residents.

Dni 5, inc. Is a massachusetts nonprofit corporation established to aid in the acquisition, improvement, and conservation of open space for the cultivation of natural resources in the roxbury/dorchester neighborhoods of boston. Dudley neighbors incorporated (dni), located in roxbury, massachusetts, is the sole member. Dni is a community land trust and not-for-profit urban revitalization corporation organized under the commonwealth of massachusetts general laws chapter 121a. Dni was organized by the dudley street neighborhood initiative, inc. (dsni), a nonprofit tax-exempt corporation under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code, to carry out the housing development component of dsni's comprehensive master plan guide to revitalizing the dudley street neighborhood. Dsni has a controlling interest in dni through its power to appoint six out of nine voting members of dni's 11-member board. Dsni has the ability to require that some of the voting members come from its board.

Financial Statement Notes

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization currently evaluate all tax positions, and makes a determination regarding the likelihood of those positions being upheld under review. The primary tax positions made by the organization are the existence of unrelated business income tax and the organization's tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue code and the fact that changes may result from closing of statute of limitations on tax returns, new legislation, and clarification of existing legislation through government pronouncements, the courts, and through the examination process. For the years presented, the organization has not recognized any tax benefits or loss contingencies for uncertain tax positions based on these evaluations.
