Mission and Program Overview

Mission

The social innovation forum, inc. Became an independent 501(c)(3) organization in 2015. Its mission is to create positive social change in greater boston by engaging and informing funders and investors so that they can direct resources more effectively while also educating and supporting leaders of nonprofit organizations so that they can deliver the most effective solutions to social issues. Sif has created a "marketplace" where it connects social purpose organizations ("innovators") with a community of individuals ("investors and supporters")who can provide financial, technical, and coaching support, thereby leveraging every role in the ecosystem for social impact.

The Form 990 is to provided to each board member before filing. Any questions and/or comments are sent to the audit committee for resolution with management. Once all question/issues are satisfactory resolved, each board member votes to accept the form 990 as filed.

The organization regularly and consistently monitors and enforces compliance with the policy by requiring all directors and officers to sign a conflict of interest and disclosure form annually and to affirmatively disclose potential conflicts as they arise.

Management compensation is reviewed annually and compared to organizations of similar size, mission and geographical location using comparability date. Executive compensation and subsequent substantiation of the deliberation for the CEO, is reflected in the board minutes.

OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Coworking and community support - sif manages a collaborative, community space dedicated to helping nonprofits work productively, build their capacity, and broaden their networks to achieve social impact. members have access to basic office amenities and a range of workshops and programs. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: The Alumni Program is a newer initiative to support organizations who have completed our Social Innovator Accelerator through their next stage of development. Early programming has included cohort based learning and we are developing, in partnership with an Alumni Council, an Accelerator 2.0 to refresh and enhance the skills of the original participants, offer training to executive directors new to their roles, and supporting organizations in responding to a new set of challenges

IRS990/MissionDesc0The Social Innovation Forum, Inc. became an independent 501(c)(3) organization in 2015. Its mission is to create positive social change in greater Boston by engaging and informing funders and investors so that they can direct resources more effectively while also educating and supporting leaders of nonprofit organizations so that they can deliver the most effective solutions to social issues. SIF has created a "marketplace" where it connects social purpose organizations ("Innovators") with a community of individuals ("Investors and supporters")who can provide financial, technical, and coaching support, thereby leveraging every role in the ecosystem for social impact.
