“The previously reported $572,641 in book value before depreciation of capital assets was initially miscalculated in the accounting records. The accountants at the time made their best estimate based on inadequate records on the donated land and building supplies used in the construction of the homeless shelter. As the Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope transitioned to a more accurate recording of capital assets the miscalculation was discovered and appropriately adjusted in the accounting system. The correct book value before depreciation of capital assets is $380,636 resulting in an adjustment of $178,912 decrease in capital assets and decrease in retained earnings.”
