Profile

Kearsarge food hub's mission is to reinvigorate our community within a restorative local food system by cultivating food sovereignty, growing engaged learners, and nurturing community. We accomplish this through our food access and security work, food and farm-based education and community building, partnerships and leadership. We serve the greater kearsarge/lake sunapee region (merrimack and sullivan counties) of new hampshire. The kearsarge food hub envisions a resilient and connected community where everyone is empowered to access healthy food, where local farmers are supported and the land is nourished and where all people share a common sense of place.

Financial Statement Notes

Schedule D, Part V

The purpose of the kearsarge food hub ("kfh") operating reserve fund policy is to build and maintain an adequate level of unrestricted net assets to support the kfh's day-to-day operations in the event of unforeseen shortfalls. The reserve may also be used for one-time, nonrecurring expenses that will build long-term capacity, such as staff development, research and development, or capital investment in infrastructure. Operating reserves are not intended to replace a permanent loss of funds or eliminate an ongoing budget gap. Kfh intends the operating reserves to be used and replenished within a reasonable period, as defined in this policy. This operating reserve fund policy will be implemented in conjunction with the other kfh financial policies and shall support the goals and strategies contained in those policies and the organization's strategic and operational plans.
