“To serve patients and the public by continuously ensuring the competence of it diplomats who are responsible for the safety of clinical and research mr environments. To establish criteria for certification of individuals with responsibility for safety in the mr environment as having demonstrated at least minimal safety qualifications for the specific certification type issued. To objectively evaluate the qualifications of voluntary candidates for abmrs certifications. To issue certificates to candidates deemed qualified and competent in the specialities of the abmrs and to maintain records accordingly. To promote professionalism within, and the standardization of safety practices throughout our disciplines. To attempt, to the extent practical/fesible, to achieve international consensus for standardized mr safe practices and for the organizational structure, responsiblities, and credentialing of those charged with ensuring the safety of clinical and research mr environments and to pursue all objectives neessary or incidental to the foregoing objectives and purposes.”
