Governance Explanations

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11B

Form 990 was provided to the organization's governing body before it was filed and reviewed for accuracy and integrity. Reviews of income and expenses were conducted to ensure the reporting is consistent with the financial statements maintained contemporaneously by the organization. The professional services of a certified public accountant were used in the preparation and review of the form 990 with the governing body.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12C

To ensure bridge operates in a manner consistent with charitable purposes and does not engage in activities that could jeopardize its tax-exempt status, periodic reviews are conducted on (1) whether compensation arrangements and benefits are reasonable, based on competetent survey information, and the result of arm's length bargaining. (2) whether partnerships, joint ventures, and arrangements with management organizations conform to bridge's written policies, are properly recorded, reflect reasonable investment or payment for goods and services, further charitable purposes and do not result in inurement, impermissible private benefit, or in an excess benefit transaction.

Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15

Proceedings recorded with minutes including names of persons present for discussions and votes, nature of qualifications of candidate for position, conflicts of interest check, exercising due diligence to find more advantageous arrangement or person, comparability analysis, and if a more advantageous arrangement is not reasonably possible, in conformity with above directors make a decision.

Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19

The organization makes its governing documents, conflict of interest policy, and financial statements available to the public upon request.
