Program Services

DescriptionGrantsExpenses
Our event unites the community in a powerful display of support for children and families affected by childhood cancer. Every part of the day aims to raise awareness, foster connections, and honor the bravery of every childhood cancer warrior. The day kicks off with a community 5K, inviting participants of all ages to contribute, learn, and engage with the mission of childhood cancer advocacy. Its more than just a race; its a chance to understand the challenges families face and to stand with them in solidarity. After the run/walk, the community gathers for breakfast with families impacted by childhood cancer and the nonprofits that support them. This shared meal humanizes childhood cancer, opening space for connection, understanding, and compassion. The CHAMPION Walk honors every child touched by cancer. Supporting those currently in treatment Celebrating those in remission Remembering those who are no longer with us Its a heartfelt tribute to the strength, resilience, and spirit of these extraordinary children. During a moment of reflection and remembrance, families whose children have gained their wings take part in a memorial dove release. This symbolic act recognizes their profound loss and surrounds them with love. Local nonprofits come together to share resources, services, and support networks available to families navigating a childhood cancer diagnosis. This fair empowers families to build the essential support system they need during the most difficult times. While the event raises vital funds, its greatest impact is in raising awareness and rallying around families whose lives were forever changed by the words, Your child has cancer. Its a day of unity, remembrance, education, and steadfast community support. The Annual Event supports families of children diagnosed with cancer while honoring the courage of everyone affected by childhood cancer. CHAMP provides a vital network of support, ensuring families never face their journey alone. Net proceeds fund Arizona childhood cancer programs, expanding access to critical resources. Through financial giving, volunteer opportunities, and community engagement, the event strengthens the childhood cancer community and inspires meaningful involvement.$0$27,651
CHAMP provides no-cost, on-treatment family retreats, allowing families to find respite amidst a childhood cancer diagnosis. A childhood cancer diagnosis doesnt just alter a childs life; it transforms an entire familys world. Between hospital stays, treatment schedules, and the constant presence of fear, exhaustion, and financial stress, families often forget what it feels like to be together. Treatment Family Retreats provide a rare and meaningful break from that reality. These retreats give families a chance to step away from the relentless demands of treatment and into a space designed for healing in every sense. Here, families can reconnect without the burden of medical decisions, relax in a supportive community, and rediscover moments of joy that illness often takes away. Families spend time resting, laughing, sharing meals, and creating memories that remind them they are more than a diagnosis. They meet other families walking the same difficult journey, people who understand without explanation, and find comfort in knowing they are not alone. In this space, hope feels nearer, burdens feel lighter, and families gather the emotional strength needed to continue their fight.$0$17,305
CHAMP delivers critical funding to roughly 28 childhood cancer 501(c)(3) nonprofits across Arizona each year, strengthening the entire network of support available to families facing the unthinkable. These grants dont just sustain programs; they change the lived experience of children on treatment, their parents, and their siblings. Every dollar CHAMP distributes becomes: A gas card that gets a parent to the hospital for another round of chemo A meal delivered on a day when no one has the energy to cook A sibling support program that reminds a brother or sister they havent been forgotten A therapeutic activity that lets a child on treatment feel like a kid again A respite moment that gives exhausted parents room to breathe By empowering dozens of specialized childhood cancer nonprofits, CHAMP ensures that families receive wraparound care, including emotional, financial, logistical, and community support, precisely when they need it most. CHAMP isnt just funding organizations; its lifting families, restoring moments of normalcy, and helping them navigate the hardest chapter of their lives with dignity and hope.$14,850$14,850
