IRS990/Desc0The Big Android BBQ 2016 - October 21,22 23 - was held at the Hurst Conference Center, Hurst, Texas. It consisted of a three day intensive developer conference that provided cutting edge developer discussions and hands on training to over 1,000 attendees. The cost ranged from 75 to 300 depending on the programs attended. We were able to provide this extraordinary value through partnerships with companies like Google and Facebook that provided subject matter expert speakers and other neccessary resources needed to execute a conference of this size. During this conference, we were able to achieve our major goal of introducing local low income middle and high school students to coding / careers in development. Over 200 students from 3 different Dallas area schools attended sessions and specialized talks. We were able to de-mystify what it means to be a software developer and show them that you dont need to be a math major or rocket scientist to be a delveloper. These students enjoyed a free lunch with many developer volunteers and industry leaders.

IRS990/ProgSrvcAccomActy3Grp/Desc0The Seattle Code Rush - 2016 was held on August 13, 2015 at Westlake Conference Center in Seattle, Washington. The conference had over 100 attendees, including 20 - 30 completely new to coding. The event was free to all attendees and included a free lunch. Leftovers were taken to a homeless shelter near the event. This event was targeted at current developers, providing them with subject matter expert talks on various current and future coding techniques. The attendees had several code challenges that they could attempt, either by themselves or in teams. The new participants were matched up with local developer volunteers who walked them through a short curriculum and helped them tackle some of the beginner chalanges.
