“Sanyuka's mission is to create an environment where orphaned and vulnerable children in Uganda can experience the exceeding love of Jesus Christ, the joy and support of family, with respect, hope, safety and an opportunity to realize their God-given potential. Our values are driven by our belief in (1) the Love of Jesus Christ, (2) the value of each individual, (3) the importance of family to a child, and (4) education as a conduit to maximizing children's opportunities. The first steps of our mission are accomplished through providing a safe physical home and a loving family environment that aid in the physical and emotional recovery process of our children, who each have a story of abandonment, neglect, and degradation of their value as an individual. Through the work of the NGO's volunteers and social workers, our children receive one-on-one counseling and mentoring to help them move from their traumatic pasts into a future filled with this new found trust and belief in their own self-value. Our children are provided with educational opportunities that enable them to maximize their God-given talents. Primary and secondary education in Uganda is provided by two different options - (1) public education that often times does not exist or in some cases exists, but at unacceptably low levels of quality; and (2) private education. This unfortunate societal norm creates an environment where quality education is limited to the wealthy, privileged portion of Uganda's population. Vulnerable children in Uganda, especially girls, typically receive no education, effectively eliminating their ability to move out of their hopeless situation. Sanyuka has been blessed to have more than 50+ children within its care. With a blend of full-time boarding schools as well as day schools, the Sanyuka children are attending highly rated educational institutions. We believe with additional capital raising success we will be able to substantially increate the total number of children we accept into our home as well as to whom we provide access to private educational opportunities. The 10 member Sanyuka board plays a critical role in the success of Sanyuka. Our board members possess extensive experience in legal, medical, social work, construction, accounting, ministry, as well as business management. 100% capital raised has gone directly to support the Sanyuka efforts, with all administrative work provided at no cost.”
