Global trauma research is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation, as of 2016. Gtr was incorporated under the nonprofit corporation laws of the state of ny for charitable purposes in 2014, to act as a multi-service social and educational organization. Mission statement: to help support people around the world affected by psychological trauma. Gtr hopes to help people create a secure and maintainable lifestyle by means of education, counseling, support, and integration of spirituality in health practices. Gtr believes in developing and implementing comprehensive services, and therefore researches innovative techniques.

| Haiti Trauma Project: Twice this year GTR ran its annual trauma training in Haiti. GTR provided a culturally competent trauma assessment and intervention training for professionals in Haiti. Working with Haitian medical providers, teachers, and religious leaders to challenge stigmas associated with mental health, and build a comprehensive system of psycho social support in Haiti. Over 275 Haitian professionals were trained. The project coordinated with university faculty and students, community leaders, and agencies in the U.S., in a collaborative international trauma research and clinical training program; providing mental health training focusing on the pathways to care, barriers to treatment, and engagement strategies that influence service usage. In collaboration with HANA and Haitian American Relief Coalition, we were one of the first to respond providing food and medical and mental health relief. Our efforts lasted for 2 months. | Bring the Counseling to You Program: In collaboration with Senator Jesse Hamilton, the CAMPUS initiative was launched. The CAMPUS is a resource center for the Brownsville, Brooklyn community. In addition, GTR launched the Working Together Community Healing Group in response to the highly publicized shooting around the U.S. GTR created a group for people affect by police and community violence.
