To promote historic preservation and restoration in Denton, TX, supporting owners of historic structures, focused on historic preservation and rehabilitation of neighborhoods while creating new Historic Resource Surveys in collaboration with the Texas Historical Commission followed with creating new National Register Districts focused on neighborhoods.

Program Services

Support for owners seeking to rehab historic buildings within National Register Districts grew rapidly. Historic Denton's service to provide the three application steps for owners seeking to gain the 45% tax incentive became a full offering. Five buildings gained Part 3/C approvals and the owners gained the 45% incentive. Four additional buildings were added as service projects and the Part 1/A applications were created and submitted by Historic Denton to the Texas Historical Commission and the National Park Service. This new service is developing to become self supporting.$12,750$12,500
