Mission
RaisingHOPE provides advocacy, awareness and funds to abused and neglected children, many of whom are or were in the foster care system, in the Ventura County area through community events, mentoring and advocacy.
RaisingHope empowers youth and young adults who are experiencing foster care through mentoring and coaching, life skills, housing navigation, financial support and advocacy.

“OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 4: Mentoring - We match youth with a trained adult mentor that meets with the youth regularly to advise, support and encourage them through life. The resulting relationships often become the core support system in the youth's life. Our mentoring program was rebranded to Compass in 2023 with a coaching model instituted. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Financial Support - Requests for immediate or emergency needs or those not covered by other programs are fullfilled through financial support. The requests include assistance with rent, utilites, food, clothing, car repairs or insurance, special training or school supplies. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: "Wake Up" - Documentary film inspired by real-life stories of foster children and human trafficking victims. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Our Celebrate Families Event brings together families reunited with their children for at least a year. It is attended by Ventura County administrators, social workers, and a Ventura County Juvenile Justice Judge. Twenty families were recognized at the event. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Holidays of Hope is an open house event with family-centered activities, food and beverages. Youth are given a personal gift of their choice. Over 200 youth recieved gifts.”

The resulting relationships often become the core support system in the youth's life. Our mentoring program was rebranded to Compass in 2023 with a coaching model instituted. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 5: Financial Support - Requests for immediate or emergency needs or those not covered by other programs are fullfilled through financial support. The requests include assistance with rent, utilites, food, clothing, car repairs or insurance, special training or school supplies. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 6: "Wake Up" - Documentary film inspired by real-life stories of foster children and human trafficking victims. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 7: Our Celebrate Families Event brings together families reunited with their children for at least a year. It is attended by Ventura County administrators, social workers, and a Ventura County Juvenile Justice Judge. Twenty families were recognized at the event. OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES 8: Holidays of Hope is an open house event with family-centered activities, food and beverages. Youth are given a personal gift of their choice. Over 200 youth recieved gifts. |
