DescriptionGrantsExpenses
226 Students participated in 2 events, a Western Dance and a Semi Formal Dance. Participating in these events provided an opportunity for students to develop vital social skills like cooperation, communication, and empathy, boosting confidence and self-expression, providing stress relief, and improving physical health, coordination, and cognitive functions like problem-solving, creating a holistic positive impact on student well-being and school culture. Dances foster community, offer a creative outlet, and teach discipline and teamwork, benefiting students far beyond the event itself.-$33,385
226 Students participated in learning proper table etiquette for future dining experiences. Learning proper table etiquette equips students with essential life skills, boosting their confidence, teaching respect, fostering self-discipline, and improving social skills for positive interactions in family, academic, and future professional settings, making them more socially aware and capable.-$5,498
226 Students received a Boerne Cotillion shirt to wear at all events except the 2 dances. It's important for students to have a group shirt because they foster unity, identity, and belonging, making students feel part of something bigger, reducing peer pressure, and boosting spirit for the organization. All of the students wearing the same shirt promoted equality by minimizing visible economic differences, improving focus by removing fashion distractions, enhancing safety by making outsiders easily identifiable, and building a sense of discipline and professionalism, much like a sports team's gear.-$4,158

ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt0The Boerne Cotillion organization's fiscal year ends on July 31; however, we were late filing this past year for several reasons. Initially, the IRS website consistently gave us error messages, not allowing us to complete the information we needed online. Upon further review of the IRS requirements, we realized that a 990ez form needed to be completed. Unlike prior years, our revenue generated for the 2024-2025 season exceeded $50,000 because of the number of students desiring to participate. This was a new development, and I realized we couldn't do what the previous boards had always done before us. As our board is comprised entirely of volunteers, it became a challenge to figure out exactly what needed to be done to accurately represent the organization. The deadline for our filing fell on December 15; unfortunately, my mom had a life-threatening stroke on December 11, and the days and weeks following did not allow me to focus on anything other than that. Additionally, my daughter fractured her back beginning of December so we had two serious unexpected medical emergencies that required my attention and care.
