This six-month intensive program trained over 200 young women many survivors of sex trafficking and abuse in trekking survival and leadership skills empowering them to achieve financial independence. The funding covered essential trekking equipment collaboration with local communities for cultural and logistical integration and compensation for experienced guides who provided hands-on training. The program also incorporated leadership development mental resilience training and career-building opportunities ensuring long-term impact. By equipping these young women with tangible skills and economic opportunities Courageous Girls continued its mission to transform trauma into strength using the power of nature skill-building and community support to help them reclaim their futures, $30000| In 2022 Courageous Girls deepened its commitment to education in Peru by supporting 20 survivors of sexual assault from a remote village as they transitioned beyond high school after graduating in December 2021. However the lasting impact of the pandemic revealed significant learning gapsmany students struggled with basic literacy and academic skills. To address this we provided individualized tutoring iPads and additional educational resources ensuring they had a clear path toward higher education.Beyond academic support we worked closely with each student to strengthen foundational skills build confidence and equip them with the tools needed for future academic and career success. This program was more than just financial assistanceit was a transformative intervention that gave these young women the opportunity to break cycles of trauma and poverty.
