IRS990ScheduleI/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt0Cash grants were provided to qualifying individuals for purposes of meeting basic needs such as payment for furnace repair, food, car repair, hot water heater repair, flea infestation remediation, new tires, repair of broken kitchen appliances, and airfare and lodging for memorial services. Gold star and injured operators' families may apply to QRF for assistance and when doing so, explain and substantiate their needs which are unmet by insurance or other organizations. QRF evaluates each request and its connection with QRF's mission of helping others. Once approved, cash grants are made to the qualifying individuals in order to offset the financial hardship. Grants to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations THAT SERVE VETERANS AND FAMILIES OF VETERANS are made periodically to further QRF's mission. QRF relies upon the donees' internal processes and procedures to ensure that the funds are used in accordance with the donee's exempt mission.
