Legislators and various agency officials spoke to the attendees as of the importance of keeping these homes protected to provide safe, affordable and quality care to the frail elderly, and individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness, in light of housing crisis. 6Beds sponsored AB2744 RCFE Referral Agency Bill to regulate significant fees imposed by referral agents every time a person is placed in a licensed RCFE (elderly) home, thereby maintaining affordability. Department of Social Services provided education update on regulations and operations to keep owners of these licensed homes compliant to Title 22 laws. Federal and State labor agencies also participated to educate care facility owners on labor compliance.
