“The Board updated its Policies & Procedures to include the following:a.For those seats on the Executive Committee not filled by an officer (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer), the Chair will invite the senior of the two directors nominated by the same member organization or representing the public or affiliated with ACCME-recognized accrediting organizations to stand for election to the Executive Committee. If the senior director declines the invitation, then the junior director will be nominated to the Executive Committee.b.The Board will be asked to submit nominations for election to an officer position (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer) by September 1st of each year.c.The Board will determine what, if any, material should accompany each nomination for an officer position. d.Clarify the requirement for election to an Officer position (from simple majority to majority) to comply with ACCMEs parliamentary authority, The Standard Code of Parliamentary Procedure.The Board eliminated the position of Vice Chair for the Boards Decision, Finance and Quality Improvement Committees.”

“American Hospital Association, Association for Hospital Medical Education, Council for Medical Specialty Societies, American Board of Medical Specialties, Federation of State Medical Boards, American Medical Asociation, American Association of Medical Colleges”

“Member organizations nominate directors who are then elected by the Board.”

“Lists of actions of the meetings of the board of directors shall be sent to the chief executive officer of each member within ten days after each meeting of the board of directors. If within 45 days of receipt of the list of actions of a meeting, 3 or more of the 7 members inform accme in writing that a particular listed action is in furtherance of a purpose or function outside each purpose and function in article ii, that action shall be altered, rescinded, or discontinued to conform to article ii. This notice in writing must be accompanied by a written explination of why the action is perceived to be objectionable.”
