Activity 2

Omaha Performing Arts is dedicated to reaching all members of the community through its education and community involvement programs. These programs help to eradicate barriers that often prevent certain groups of citizens from having regular access to the performing arts. Through the past seven seasons, OPA has increased the number of active participants in programs such a Arts Access and the Student Matinee Series, which provide free or deeply discounted tickets to students, educators, and community groups. OPA has also established a network of community organizations that it partners with in order to bring both new and established audiences to the arts. Collaborations have taken place with the Omaha Symphony, Opera Omaha, Broadway Dreams, Omaha Public Schools, the Rose Theater, BluesEd, University of Nebraska - Omaha Jazz Studies program, African Cultural Connection, Omaha Children's Museum, Film Streams, Omaha Modern Dance Collective, Joslyn Art Museum, Lied Center for Performing Arts (Lincoln, NE) and others. During the 2011/2012 season, more than 20,000 students, educators, and members of the community benefited from these programs.

Activity 3

Omaha Performing Arts manages and maintains the Orpheum Theater and the Holland Performing Arts Center. These venues have hosted a variety of cultural, performing arts, and entertainment events in addition to the "Omaha Performing Arts Presents" series and national Broadway touring productions, including the Omaha Symphony, Opera Omaha, Ballet Nebraska, and national touring artists such as Alison Krauss, Bill Cosby, Jerry Seinfeld, Heartland of America Band, Riverdance, The Fresh Beat Band, and Mannheim Steamroller.
