“Our mission is: (1) to educate and inform michigan residents, local units of government, and michigan state legislators about oil and gas exploration and development; (2) to educate citizens about state policy, and to inform state policy in the direction of giving all local communities the right to manage oil and gas exploration and development in ways consistent with local goals-- whether those be for residential, open-space preservation, outdoor recreation and sport, or other development--and with maintaining the integrity of drinking and surface water; and (3) to ensure that the oil and gas industry and the state agency that regulates it protect state residents and their communities as well as the rights of local units of government.”
