Mission and Program Overview

Mission

Georgia Studio & Infrastructure Alliance, Inc. ("GSIA") is a business league comprised of studio groups operating in the state of Georgia. GSIA was created to advance the interests of its members and protect and increase studio and film development in Georgia through lobbying and other grass roots outreach. GSIA believes and intends to inform Georgia's Governor, legislators, and other policy makers that in order to ensure continued job development and increase the scope and success of film making and film production in Georgia, Georgia government officials must protect and encourage this business industry. GSIA will encourage its members and supporters to communicate their views to public and private stakeholders in Georgia and to educate policy makers in state government about the impact of proposed government action.

Form 990-EZ, Part III- Organizations Primary Exempt PurposeGeorgia Studio & Infrastructure Alliance, Inc. (GSIA) is collaborative voice for Georgia Studios and support businesses to communicate, educate, and advocate for long term sustainability of the states film and television industry. Form 990-EZ, Part III, Line 28 - Statement of Program Service AccomplishmentsIn 2021, the GSIA, an alliance of sound stages and film industry vendors, continued their work to advocate for the Georgia Entertainment Tax Credit and tell the stories of everyday hardworking Georgians who have made a career in the Film industry. Our Crrent GSIA President, John Raulet, was appointed by Governor Brain Kemp to the Governors Film, Music and Digital Advisory Board where he serves as Board Secretary.GSIA Implemented an ongoing statewide public relations campaign in 2016, and spent 5 years cultivating sotires highlighting Georgias Film industry workers around the state and in 2020 we compiled these stories into what is now one of our most popular initiatives - a book called WeAreGAFilm. During the 2020 Legislative session of Georgia General Assembly, we were honored with Jount House and Senate Resolutions in 2020 and were given the opportunity to present each and every legislator a copy of the book on their desks. This book is a now an effective tool for film industry advocates to use when talking with policymakers to show how important the Georgia Entertainment Tax Credit is to our state by sharing the faces and stories of real Georgians working in the industry. A second Edition is expected to be released in 2022.In 2021, GSIA began the process of producing the second edition of the book by securing sponsors and working with the PR team to layout the 2022 edition of the book to be released during the 2022 Legislative Session. In addition, we continued our partnership with the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) on their website, Georgia FilmWorks, which showcases GSIAs PR stories on the states website. Since our founding in 2014, GSIA has grown and established itself as a trusted voice for the industry, earning its credibility through active involvement at the State Capitol during and beyond the legislative session. We continue to strive to be a resource to policymakers when they need our input and/or film industry data when they are making decisions related to the film industry. The relationships we have developed allow us to be a source of information for education initiatives to prepare an educated workforce to take advantage of film industry opportunities. As our membership has grown, we have become a strong collaborative partner with other film industry organizations and look forward to continuing to lead the charge representing working Georgians in the film industry.
