“Evermore is making transformational system changes that advances in bereavement care for all. We are shedding a national spotlight on bereavement as a social and public health crisis, advancing the nation's science base, and advocating for meaningful policy change with volunteers across the united states. We believe in a healthy and prosperous future for all and are dedicated to making the world a more livable place for bereaved families and the frontline responders who serve them. We do this by accelerating individuals' injustices in the aftermath to population-level policy change. Evermore is the nation's only nonprofit focused on advancing bereavement care through systems change which will create lasting impact for bereaved individuals and their families. The united states is experiencing concurrent mortality epidemics from covid-19, homicide, suicide, overdose, mass shootings, and maternal mortality. Yet, the nation fails to recognize bereavement's intersectionality with these mortality crises and how bereavement can be an initiating event for other public emergencies (e.g., drug abuse, violent crime involvement, incarceration, teen pregnancy, suicide, and premature death). To raise the visibility of the problem and potential solutions, evermore actively works with the white house, congress and individuals across the nation. As a result of our leadership, bereavement has been included in the u.s. Appropriations process, formalized into leading legislative packages, volunteers have led change in their own communities, and we have facilitated scientific coordination and connections among leading experts. Evermore's work has been highlighted by npr's weekend edition, wpsu (penn state's public radio station), the washington informer, the world, vox, the washington post, nbc news, good morning america and more.”
