Mission and Program Overview

Mission

To educate doctors, as well as the doctors of the future, in the way they think about their profession and chosen way of life. The founders of ETHOS believe that, along with learning the required scientific knowledge and medical expertise, a doctor's education should also include the internal cultivation of principles and beliefs that allow him or her to see the profession as a calling instead of just a job. The idea of "ethos" refers to the substance of an individual's inner self, beyond simply the ethics of what the doctor does. Put simply, "ethos" (who one is) will dictate "ethics" (how one acts or thinks).
