Earthenable's mission is to improve health of low-income families in rwanda by removing a key driver of poor sanitation in the home: durt floors. Dirt floors cause malnutrition, diarrhea, respiratory disease, and vector-borne disease, but concrete is unaffordable. Earthenable's floors are 75% cheaper than concrete, and composed of natural materials with 90% less embedded energy than concrete (clay, sand, natural fibers, and a sealing oil that turns into a hard plastic resin when it dries).
