ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt0I have historically filed Form 990-N because Club Life's annual gross receipts were below the filing threshold requiring Form 990-EZ. During 2025, gross receipts exceeded the threshold for the first time, and I was unaware that a different return was required. Club Life is a small nonprofit organization with limited administrative resources and no dedicated bookkeeping or accounting staff. As the founder and president, I handle the organization's administrative and financial recordkeeping myself while also serving as the primary caregiver for my adult daughter who lives with a traumatic brain injury. Because this was my first time preparing a Form 990-EZ, there was a significant learning curve in understanding the filing requirements and reconstructing the financial records needed to complete the return accurately. This process required additional time to ensure the information reported was complete and correct. Upon becoming aware of the filing requirement, I promptly gathered the necessary information and completed the return. I have taken steps to better monitor future filing requirements and ensure timely compliance going forward. Please consider waiving the penalty. Thank you.
