Part iii - what is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Introduction the sunshine state athletic conference for high schools, inc. ("ssac") is an association of small like-minded charter, private and parochial schools, which currently has approximately one hundred ten (110) member schools, which promotes and is dedicated to direct interscholastic high school competition for its member schools. These small like-minded member schools promote the concept of the student- athlete where both athletic and academic performance are emphasized. These very small ssac member schools are different from the large public and private florida high schools, where the athletic performances of some of the premier high school athletes in florida achieve great notoriety and promotion by the florida high school athletic association (the "fhsaa"). The fhsaa is currently the only body recognized by the florida house and senate for directing and controlling interscholastic high school athletics. The ssac is attempting to achieve recognition by the florida legislature, so that its student-athletes do not feel "left out" it is rare that the student-athletes from the ssac member schools will be looked at closely by college scouts from large florida colleges and universities who are members of the southeastern conference ("sec"), atlantic coast conference ("acc") and other well-known universities from around the country. Similar to athletes who attend division iii ncaa colleges as well as community colleges, the ssac athletes generally do not receive athletic scholarships after high school for athletic performance. In fact, many of the schools they will attend do not even have athletic scholarships. Instead, the ssac attempts to promote both the academic and athletic achievements of what are truly "student athletes", and their needs are very different from the large public high schools, where some of the athletes "major" in football, basketball or the other popular sports, rather than achieving high or significant academic performance in high school. Activities of the organization recipients the sunshine state athletic conference for high schools, inc. ("ssac") is an association of small like-minded charter, private and parochial schools dedicated: i.to direct and control interscholastic high school competition of member schools: ii.to prescribe eligibility rules for contestants and penalties for the violation of such rules and for violation of the rules of play in various sports; iii.promote the benefits and ideals gained through athletic activities and physical fitness for its student-athletes; iv.to exemplify the development of student-athletes of its member schools physically, intellectually, emotionally and morally-through fair ssac competition; v. To conduct sectional, district and state meets or tournaments; vi.to make suitable awards in the state meets vii.to assign game officials in conjunction with the florida high school athletic association; and viii.to establish a health and safety board to speak on educational topics related to interscholastic sports, including, without limitation, proper nutrition, dealing with various sports injuries, proper first aid at sports contests, combatting concussions in high school sports, to promote social welfare benefiting the general public and student-athletes in m
