FORM 990-EZ, PART III, LINE 28, PROGRAM SERVICE ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

The rotarian action group for peace (ragfp) has informed 2,247 ragfp members from 75 countries about local and global peacebuilding projects, activities and events. Ragfp members include leading community leaders and are part of various peacebuilding organizations, rotary clubs and rotary districts worldwide. The top three countries represented by ragfp membership this year are: united states of america, philippines and australia. Our services/communications/materials have directly impacted approximately 89,910 individuals including 78,248 unique website visitors (since jan. 1, 2018), 7,571 facebook followers, 844 twitter followers, 2,247 unique mailchimp subscribers, and 1,000 attendees of the ri presidential peace conference in vancouver, canada. Indirectly, our peace poles project and peace poles map have affected roughly 60,000 individuals who visit these sites where peace poles are planted in north america and mexico. Rotarian action group for peace was actively engaged in numerous activities throughout the year to promote peace and understanding in the united states and the world. Here are a few examples of ragfp service projects that highlight how it made a difference in 2018: the 2018 colombia symposium: dialogue, decisions, and cooperation was born as a group of rotarians identified need related to a post-conflict scenario in colombia. The symposium, which will consist of direct training and workshops, will focus primarily upon how business leaders can actually view peace not only as a purpose, but also as a profit opportunity that strengthens economic growth for all citizens in the region. These workshops will train professionals to achieve profitable cooperation in areas affected by conflict, offering innovative solutions to peacebuilding, improving relations between companies and stakeholders, and articulating business decisions within particular areas of influence. The symposium seeks to train up to 100 colombian leaders, especially potential youth leaders, to prevent and mediate conflict. This is a rotary global grant peace project, and just one of the many important rotarian peace projects that ragfp is proud to support in our important mission of educating, engaging and empowering rotarian peacebuilders worldwide. Rotarian action group for peace helped raise funds for this project, and facilitated connections between rotarians in colombia and rotary global grant writers who could draft the project. Ragfp provided a network of rotary peacebuilders, linking a rotary peace fellow capable of training and implementation of the project, with ragfp board members who possessed sound knowledge of funding and designing rotary peace projects. Ragfp was able to provide an organizational structure for rotarians to work together for peace. Cyprus peace education initiative: this project is a collaborative effort between the ragfp and the conflict resolution program of portland state university, focusing on peace, conflict prevention and resolution. The cyprus peace education initiative facilitates dialogue in the interest of peace and reconciliation between greek and turkish rotarians, academics and educators in cyprus. The initiative focuses upon challenges facing the educational systems in light of the peace process, and the needed reforms to be designed and integrated into these existing systems, especially in the event of a comprehensive settlement of the cyprus problem. The goal is fostering peaceful coexistence of the greek and turkish communities living on the island, by building bridges of cooperation and reconciliation across the two educational systems. Presidential peace conference in vancouver: ragfp partnered and supported the rotary international presidential peacebuilding conference in vancouver, british columbia. 1,000 attendees returned to their communities, rotary clubs and districts, and families inspired and emboldened to engage, educate and empower others to greater action for world peace.
