Part X

1. Strategic use of reserves to fund growth in fy24, house of shine made a strategic decision to invest into refining our programmatic reach, infrastructure, and long-term sustainability. This included scaling our core programs, deepening community engagement through our youth, family and women's programs, and enhancing internal systems. These investments were intentional and aligned with our mission to build confident, self-aware leaders across communities. While this resulted in a planned deficit, it reflects our commitment to measured growth that positions house of shine for future impact and financial resilience. 2. Financial sustainability & donor diversification strategy house of shine is actively transitioning from a predominantly donor-funded model to a more diversified, mission-aligned revenue structure. Over the next three years, we aim to generate increased revenue through program-based incomeincluding shineologist certifications, corporate keynotes, and custom workshops. We are also deepening our relationships with individual donors while expanding our institutional grant-seeking efforts. These efforts are designed to reduce dependency on any single donor and ensure that our financial foundation is as strong and enduring as our mission. Financial footnote (for public reporting) house of shine experienced a net asset decrease in fy24 as part of a strategic reinvestment initiative. The organization allocated reserve funds toward scaling high-impact programs, investing in systems infrastructure, and restructuring staffing and financial operations. These investments are foundational to a multi-year strategy aimed at increasing earned revenue, broadening donor support, and enhancing long-term sustainability. As part of this plan, house of shine is actively building a diversified revenue model that will reduce financial risk and support future mission growth.

WE ARE ALSO DEEPENING OUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH INDIVIDUAL DONORS WHILE EXPANDING OUR INSTITUTIONAL GRANT-SEEKING EFFORTS. FINANCIAL FOOTNOTE (FOR PUBLIC REPORTING) HOUSE OF SHINE EXPERIENCED A NET ASSET DECREASE IN FY24 AS PART OF A STRATEGIC REINVESTMENT INITIATIVE.
