“In 2014 , frank and linda holland established the southgate learning and resource center. Since the center was established, it has branched out and developed new programs. Feeding our community our belief is that no one should go hungry. We do our part by giving away thousands of pounds of food every week to families who are in need. The food that we distribute includes meats, fresh produce, dairy, fresh prepared meals, baked goods, etc. We teach reallocation. If we can help them save money on food, they can reallocate those funds to help with their rent, utilities and other bills. We provide weekly food giveaways as well as a large monthly giveaway. Our pantry is open on tuesdays and on thursdays. The farmers market giveaway is the last saturday of every month. Ark since there are so many kids falling behind their classmates in their reading, writing and mathematics skills, the ark literacy program offers one on one after school tutoring to help at risk kids to excel in these areas. Our belief is if a child can read, they can succeed improving their educational skills will help build their confidence and self esteem. We know this will make all the difference in the world by changing and elevating their course of education. Mission to change lives through education by supplying resources to help families overcome the challenges they face daily. The south gate team is impacting our community one family at a time. Our mission is to equip families to overcome their current challenges and live healthy productive lives.”
