“Line 38 - Micro-lending program - The organization offers micro-loans for adults based on the following eligibility requirements: having income under the federal guidelines for poverty, be a resident of the Service area, have a minimum of 15 hours of volunteering in community enterprises, and be 18 or older. Loans can be up to $500. A fee of 5 to 10% of the loan is charged but can be waived if the loan is repaid early. Board members are eligible for the program but must recuse themselves from the discussion about and voting for the loan approval. At June 30, 2016 three board member had outstanding loan balances of $38, $369, and $280.”
