| ReasonableCauseExplanation/ExplanationTxt | 0 | Since its inception Lone Star Schools has only filed the e-Postcard 990 N. Not knowing how to file the 990 after being awarded a federal grant we began speaking to our evaluation team, CDC Project Officer, and made several attempts to contact the Internal Revenue Service. Everyone pointed us back to the Internal Revenue Service. Unfortunately, for Lone Star Schools, we were not able to get assistance from the Internal Revenue Service due to high call volume which led to extremely long hold times that ended with being disconnected, or several transfers that ended with being put on hold and then disconnected. It was very important to Lone Star Schools to get clarity as we had several different periods that were intersecting...a period for DFC & CARA Me, Payment Management System Federal Financial Report (FFR) and Lone Star Schools Federal Grant year. The intersecting periods made it look that we had received more than was approved for each fiscal year and made it difficult to account for budget modifications that were approved. Finally, on July 7th after being transferred 4 times, disconnected 3 times, and on hold for 4 hours and 49 minutes and being told our calls did not count because they were not logging into our account only providing us a name and ID Number...all of which was very disheartening because how can you comply with requirements if you cannot get any help. Lone Star Schools has been attempting to get clarification on the requirement and how to complete everything since April 15th. |
