Each member will thoroughly read through the 990 tax return and provide any input, comments, corrections, and approval to the treasurer. The treasurer will then communicate any changes and the final approval to the paid tax form preparer.”
“At the annual meeting of the governing board, each director and principal officer is provided a copy of the conflict of interest policy to review. In addition, they sign a statement that affirms that they have: 1. Received a copy of the conflict of interest policy, 2. Read and understands the policy, 3. Agreed to comply with the policy, and 4. In addition, relevant experience and academic credentials are taken into consideration. The executive officer and accountant for the school are full-time employees of siue and are assigned in a part-time capacity to provide oversight and accounting services to the organization. The salaries were set based on percent effort expected of these oversight positions and typical compensation for an equivalent service load at the university.”
