“The mission of the learning project is to inspire informed, critical thinking and civil discussion about some of the most difficult issues we face today-racism, anti-semitism, prejude, persecution of minorities, and growing divisions in society today-and about the means of addressing and redressing these intensifying threats.”

“We provide, in a variety of mediums, programming, research, and documentation related to instances of genocide, focusing in large part on the holocaust and stories of both rescue and survival in bulugaria and surrounding countries. Our interest and commitment flow from director jacky comforty's bulgarian jewish hertiage. From these formative circumstances, we broaden our focus to study and bring to public awareness instances of, reasons for, and characteristics of prejudices about, persecution of, and rescue or support for other minorities or disadvantaged person. Our goal is to promote understanding of, and healing responses to, today's increasingly fraught divisions and the resurgence of anti-semitism, holocaust denial or revisionism, racism and racist ideologies, and all efforts to dehumanize "the other". To this end, we also address the need to include people with disabilities in schools, universities, and life, generally, and to begin thoughtful, caring, humanistic education in early childhood. Our intended audiences include a diverse array of schools and universities, all media sectors, and government at all levels and in communities thoughtout the united states and around the world.”
