Passed and implemented washingtons solar consumer protection act waseia played a key role in the passage and implementation of the solar consumer protection act, which took effect june 6, 2024. The law promotes fair, transparent, and ethical solar business practices across washington state. It established licensing requirements for solar contractors, mandated clear contract disclosures, introduced a three-day rescission period, prohibited upfront payments, and required interconnection approval prior to installation. The law also granted new enforcement authority to the attorney generals office, providing consumers with stronger recourse options. Waseia supported this legislation to strengthen consumer trust and raise industry standards statewide.

IRS990ScheduleO/SupplementalInformationDetail/ExplanationTxt2PASSED AND IMPLEMENTED WASHINGTONS SOLAR CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT WASEIA PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN THE PASSAGE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SOLAR CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT, WHICH TOOK EFFECT JUNE 6, 2024.
