These forms are filed with the appropriate governmental entities, also per applicable new jersey state law.”
“Salary and compensation of the ceo/lead person of the school is reviewed and evaluated by board of trustees of the trenton stem-to-civics charter school on an annual basis. In conducting such review and evaluation, factors such as personal strengths and weaknesses, as well as goals and achievements of the charter school, and comparable salary data are all given due weight and consideration. The ultimate compensation evaluation and recommendation is thereafter approved by the board of trustees of the charter school.”

“The ending fund balance for trenton stem-to-civics charter school (tsccs) as of june 30, 2020, was $302,248. The principal reason for the positive fund balance is due to the reporting requirements of the gasb 68 net pension liability. For year end june 30, 2020, tsccs reported a pension liability of $2,039,021, plus deferred inflows of $748,932, for a total pension liability of $2,787,953. This amount is reduced by the total deferred outflows of $1,970,639, for a net pension liability of $817,314. This amount is tsccs's apportionment of the new jersey state net pension liability at the school level. The state of new jersey is ultimately responsible for the pension liability. If this reporting requirment of the gasb 68 net pension liability was removed, tsccs would show a positive fund balance in excess of $1,119,562.”

THE MIDDLE SCHOOL, WHICH IS LOCATED IN TRENTON, HOUSES STUDENTS IN GRADES 6-8 AND HAS A CAPACITY OF 275 STUDENTS. THE HIGH SCHOOL, WHICH HOUSES STUDENTS IN GRADES 9-12 AND HAS A CAPACITY OF 450 STUDENTS, WILL REMAIN IN EWING.MAJOR INITIATIVES FOR THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR CENTERED ON ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONTINUED IMPLEMENTATION OF THE CHARTER SCHOOL'S PROGRAM AND THE CHALLENGES OF THE SCHOOL'S GROWTH EXPANSION FOR YEAR SIX OF OPERATION. SPECIFICALLY, THE FOLLOWING WERE AREAS OF FOCUS FOR OPERATIONAL ACTIVITY: FISCAL CONTROLS/COMPLIANCE AND FINANCIAL STABILITY; INCREASING STUDENT ENROLLMENT; EXPANDING STAFF TO ACCOMMODATE PROGRAM GROWTH AND STUDENT NEEDS; BUILDING COMPETENCY IN STAFF TO PERFORM REQUIRED DELIVERABLES; PROVIDING SYSTEMIC PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR STAFF; INSTITUTIONALIZING THE SCHOOL'S DISCIPLINE AND ACADEMIC CULTURE; AND PROMOTING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT OUTCOMES AND IMPROVING PROGRAM DESIGN. |
