“The afme foundation's mission is to advance the creative economy with unique programs and events that bring together a-list talent, local talent, students, filmmakers, musicians and artists from many genres for overall growth, exposure and economic impact for the city of albuquerque, the state of new mexico and all of the supporters.”

“Afme foundation will: (1)encourage and inspire independent film and media makers; (2)introduce audiences to the work of independent film and media makers; (3) shift global consciousness through film and media while providing educational and career opportunities in those fields and the arts for future generations; (4)set standards for excellence in the use of film and media by independent artists; (5)hold periodic educational conventions of independent film and media makers and others at which seminars, roundtable discussions, workshops, artistic demonstrations and media exhibitions can, or may be presented; and (6)take any and all other actions consistent with the promotion, recognition, and appreciation of independent film and media makers, as specified in afme foundation's articles of incorporation. The annual film festival is the organization's primary program.”
