| 2015 AccomplishmentsThe following are a selection of activities and successes that were supported by Health Education Technology Institute (HETI):There are many success stories that have occurred over the past year. Examples are: starting our Adults with Disability & Caregiver Classes in July 2015 with physical therapists from the MHS clinic and Executive Director for HETI, and the success of our Men's Health Program demonstrated when one of our Dads brought his 3 sons to come and exercise with him during his physical therapy treatment. All of these children and adults patients need the comprehensive medical, dental, and family support services offered and facilitated by HETI. HETI successfully created and launched a Health Improvement Partnership Plan to bringing together partners who; (1) help create infrastructure in under-served communities; (2) equip and install state of the art medical, dental, and infection control by industry partners like Schein, (3) provide caring, competent medical, dental, rehab, and mental health-care services by California licensed health professionals like the professionals of MHS,PC, and (4) create an effective identification and referral system that ensures clients get the services identified or prescribed supported by non-profit partners like 211 Los Angeles County, Regional Centers, The Fig Tree Development Group, West Angeles Church of God & Christ, Vermont Slauson Economic Development Corporation (VSEDC). In 2015, our community outreach and advocacy efforts were focused on supporting the efforts of the health professionals that provided medical, dental, physical therapy, and mental health services to under served communities. HETI is committed to changing the landscape of health deserts by facilitating partnerships with mission-aligned, non-profit agencies and health-care providers. HETIs call-to-action is to eliminate health deserts through improved health and health-care at the local, state and federal levels work. The overall result is a healthier person, family and the community.Grants Awarded during 2015In 2015, HETI awarded a grant in the amount of $35,000 to MetroHealth Station (MHS clinic), a Health Home is a community based health and wellness facility to provide integrated medical, dental, physical rehabilitation and mental health services to the Los Angeles, South Central community.
