Annually the policy and disclosure forms are distributed to all board members and officers who are required to sign and return to the executive director. Any potential conflicts will cause a person to excuse themselves from vote on the issue causing conflict.

Due to covid-19, the organization closed its cafe, discontinued in-person enthusiast classes, and ceased events for a period of time. The organization started to work with the city of new orleans to prepare food for those affected by covid-19. It also moved its learning programs online.

PART X, LINE 2:

The organization is exempt from federal income taxes under section 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(2) of the internal revenue code and applicable state law. The organization may recognize the tax benefit from a tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities based on the technical merits of the position. Examples of tax positions include the tax-exempt status of the organization and various positions related to the potential sources of unrelated business taxable income (ubit). The organization has analyzed its tax positions taken for filings with the internal revenue service and the state of louisiana. The organization believes that its income tax filing positions will be sustained upon examination and does not anticipate any adjustments that would result in a material adverse effect on the organization's financial condition, results of operations, or cash flows.

BY ENROLLING IN LEARNING SKILLS FOR LIFE, PARTICIPANTS WILL RECEIVE INTENSIVE, HANDS-ON TRAINING IN BARTENDING, AS WELL AS DEVELOPMENT IN AREAS SUCH AS PERSONAL FINANCING, RESUME CREATION, AND INTERVIEWING.OUR INAUGURAL COHORT CLASS BEGAN ON JANUARY 13, 2020, AND PARTICIPANTS COMPLETED COURSEWORK ON FEBRUARY 7, 2020, WITH GRADUATION TAKING PLACE ON FEBRUARY 11, 2020. ALL STUDENTS WERE REQUIRED TO ATTEND CLASS INSTRUCTION FOUR HOURS DAILY, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. THIS FIRST COHORT WAS COMPRISED OF 12 INDIVIDUALS RANGING BROADLY IN AGE FROM 21 TO 49 YEARS OLD. SIXTY-SIX PERCENT OF STUDENTS WERE FEMALE, AND 83 PERCENT AFRICAN AMERICAN. APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH AFTER THE PROGRAM'S COMPLETION, GRADUATES REPORTED A 50 PERCENT PLACEMENT RATE FOR EMPLOYMENT AT BARS, RESTAURANTS, AND HOTEL ESTABLISHMENTS.
