IRS990ScheduleA/FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt0Current Year Facts and Circumstances: Student Voice, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focusing on empowering and equipping K-12 students to be leaders in their local schools. Our organization relies on funding sources from individuals as well as numerous corporate grants and donations. In recent years, we have expanded our donation and grant base to include prominently corporate donations & grants. In 2019, we relied mainly on a donation from Facebook to help support our operations. With these revenue sources, we will be able to expand our message to include more students who will be equipped to identify problematic and systemic inequality issues in the American educational system. During 2019 we began a national campaign to tour schools in order to promote and expand our mission, reaching and engaging directly with thousands of students. We have developed, throughout 2020, a fundraising strategy in which individual, recurring donations make up a higher proportion of our revenue stream. The board is composed of a diverse group of students and educational leaders who originate from various minority backgrounds. While the board members are a diverse group, they share one common goal: to close the gap with systemic inequality issues within the educational system. Each member brings a wealth of knowledge with a personal devotion and goal to eliminate these inequalities. We are able to serve the interest of the general public by continuing to fight for equality and encouraging other students to join the cause. Our work continues to benefit the general public on a continuing basis by implementing term limits for board members and a formal annual review for staff members. By completing these tasks, leadership is always fresh and connected to several underserved communities with aspirations to benefit the general public. We continue to set examples for educational leaders as well as other students to resolve issues geared towards our mission. The programs described on the 990, Part III describe each programs accomplishments.
