“A year end report, 2017. Spiritual growth is not truly measurable; only the lord knows the true spiritual impact of our lives and our efforts to grow his kingdom. Activity, however, is measurable. So here are some facts and figures from the year just ended: evangelistic outreach meetings, mark 16:15. I was keynote speaker for 4 events in 2017. I prayed with 7 people as they received christ as savior and lord. (and there may have been more, who did not tell us they had made that decision.) also, we have my personal testimony on cd, and that was distributed to reach people who had not been present. Bible study groups i lead a large weekly discipleship and evangelism group. About 70 people are enrolled, with an average weekly attendance of about 40. We also average 4 guests a week, and they always hear the gospel. This is a true biblical fellowship: people pray for one another, and minister to one anothers needs, especially in times of difficulty. My heartbeat is always for small group bible studies; it enables a more casual and open discussion, and because these are held in conference rooms and restaurants, it is easier to get unsaved and uncommitted people to attend. Another group i lead had an average attendance of 8; 13 different people attended. Writing: books, booklets, and bible study guides. My desire is to produce user-friendly biblical resources that will continue to impact lives for the kingdom of god whether i am here or not, and in 2017, i completed the 44th book / bible study guide that i have written. (this huge time commitment was only possible because of your steadfast partnership) this last year was mostly devoted to: the book of romans. It took more than a year, 20-25 hours per week, but it is now complete. Romans has been the biggest challenge of this type ever it has been called the gospel according to paul. You actually study the entire bible through the book of romans, and, when complete, you are a well-instructed, grounded christian, with a biblical worldview. It is actually a complete theology; all the major themes of the bible are in romans, including historic events going back to the creation and genesis, to the present bondage to decay, all the way to the renewal and redemption of all things. In the gospels, we have the facts from eyewitnesses---- what he said, what he did. Paul explains what it all means, and how it works, and even why it works. So my task was bringing out the shades of meaning of the original language, develop examples, analogies, and practical applications that 21st century people can connect to i have now completed a verse-by-verse study guide of the entire book, 158 pages. This required much study of the original language and culture, writing and rewriting, editing and much prayer. It is also in a preacher / teacher form, 201 pages, because several pastors use these study guides for their messages. These study guides have been given away to hundreds of people, one chapter at a time. They, in turn, share both the study guide, and the things they have learned, with many more. Worldview. Discipling a person, to me, means meeting every week for about a year and a half, studying the bible and discussing how it applies to our life situations, praying for one another, and building a relationship of accountability, much like that of paul and timothy. (some people call this mentoring.) in 2017 i discipled one man, life-on-life, and i also continue contact and accountability with a number of men i have discipled in the past . This last year, 8 men. Yes, i have discipled dozens of people there are also 3 people that i have met with frequently in order to lead them to christ. “This ministry is a continuation of the work done by doug dickson for over 20 years. Future activities described are thus the tested and effective strategies from past experiences. Total people who received jesus christ for this year of 14 are summarized below: this is a highlight that came from a response to a mission evaluation form on march 11, 2016: bible study groups i lead a large weekly discipleship and evangelism group. 75 people are enrolled, with an average weekly attendance of 42.
